The best games engage kids and allow for exploration as well as practice. Many tiles expand to show lots of games. Go ahead and EXPLORE!

Notice that counting, composing and subitizing games are at the top left before number lines and number charts. Games are loosely organized from left to right and top to bottom in a natural progression. Still, there are appropriate upper elementary games in the top row too! The best games have MANY levels so first and fifth graders may be “breaking apart” with Greg Tang using different numbers and operations.

Learning to Multiply (visually with groups or arrays) comes before Multiplication Facts and Challenge games. Fractions are separated into two groups. Sometimes I have students go to a particular game or a designated tile or two. MANY of these games can be used to formatively assess (or pre-assess) your students.
